This coffee is named after the village (Kebele) located in the woreda of Gedeb. Kochere is to the west and Yirgacheffe is located to the northwest. Producers in this area are typically part of Metad, a program that provides training and support to farmers as well as owning the washing station Halo Beriti. This coffee is a certified organic coffee.
Processing:
Farmers deliver their cherries to Halo Beriti washing station where it is graded before being pulped. The coffee is then soaked in water to remove any mucilage before being washed a second time and dried on raised beds.
